The Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity is a leader in
the social development of college men. Our values have been embraced by more
than 270,000 men since our founding in 1856, making Sigma Alpha Epsilon the
largest social fraternity in North America.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon first
established a national headquarters in 1929, a national Leadership School in
1935, a national Men’s Health Issues Committee in 1980, and the Leading Edge, a
career-development program, in 1990, making it the first organization in the
Greek world for each. Currently, the Fraternity offers a comprehensive
member-education program called The True
Gentleman Initiative. The Fraternity communicates through The Record
magazine, a quarterly publication that has been published continuously since
1880.
The mission of Sigma Alpha Epsilon is to promote the highest
standards of friendship, scholarship and service for its members based upon the
ideals set forth by the Founders and as specifically enunciated in its creed,
"The True Gentleman."
